A lovely variety with large deeply undulating leaves with a slightly ruffled margins. Its beauty lies in the varying shade the leaves take on as they age. When young the pewter marbling is almost silvery over a bright rose madder base. As they age they mature into a rich burgundy purple with a heavy pewter overlay, sometimes aging further to a show green around the veins. The reverse of the leaves and the petioles are a bright gloss burgundy-purple.

Dorset Perennials – plants direct from the heart of Dorset.

At Dorset Perennials you will find a husband and wife team, Dawn and Martin, who have been plantsmen and nurserymen for nearly 25 years. Our nursery, situated in the North of Dorset close to the Somerset border, is full of the plants we love. There’s no overall theme, just an eclectic mix of perennials that, for one reason or another, we consider well worth growing. We have plants for shade, plants for sun, plants for wildlife and a few more just because. In short all the perennials you would ever need to make a garden full of colour throughout the year and full of the plants you need to make it hum with wildlife.
