Oenothera stricta 'Sulphurea' (odorata). A lovely evening primrose with large wide open blooms of a pale creamy lemon colour, fading a delicate amber as the day progresses. Grow by a path as the evening blooms fill the air with a most delicate fragrance. Quite an upright variety with tall straight stems to 90cm. The red buds and stems add to the plants charm. Will persist for number of years and will multiply itself by seed readily.

At Dorset Perennials you will find a husband and wife team, Dawn and Martin, who have been plantsmen and nurserymen for nearly 25 years. Our nursery, situated in the North of Dorset close to the Somerset border, is full of the plants we love. There’s no overall theme, just an eclectic mix of perennials that, for one reason or another, we consider well worth growing.
