This variety was a chance seedling identified by Alan Bloom. It is shorter than the species with an extended flowering season all the way from July through to November. The flowers are a rich magenta pink with electric blue stamens. Height 100cm (sometimes more) by 70cm wide. Very drought tolerant.

Persicaria amplexicaulis Taurus

This variety was a chance seedling identified by Alan Bloom. It is shorter than the species with an extended flowering season all the way from July through to November. Polygonum derives from the Greek ‘poly’ = many and ‘gonu’ = joint, alluding to the swollen nodes on the stems. Polygonum bistortum – Bistort, Snakeweed (possibly because of the twisted rhizome), Easter Ledges
