Potsize – 1L

Another variety recently introduced from Southern China and Vietnam is this 1m tall evergreen Disporum. From a creeping rhizome it sends up many fairly upright stems which have arching lateral branches and are thickly clothed in dark green, glossy lanceolate leaves, attractively pleated and becoming more ovate as they mature. Here in Dorset it remains evergreen all Winter only being knocked by the harshest weather. In May and June the upper leaf axils carry clusters of green tipped, cream nodding bells which are followed by black berries. For sun or semi shade in moisture retentive soil.
