Lovely as they are in overall effect, the flower heads of this pastel coloured clover really reward closer inspection. Each flower head starts like a fuzzy fir cone, green with overtones of mauve, gradually opening up from the bottom with an increasing ruff of peachy-pink tubular flowers with darker red lips. Excellent as a nectar source for bees and good when cut. This clover will tolerate quite poor soils, including calcareous soils. From dry grassland in Europe, down to the Mediterranean. 60cm

At Dorset Perennials you will find a husband and wife team, Dawn and Martin, who have been plantsmen and nurserymen for nearly 25 years. Our nursery, situated in the North of Dorset close to the Somerset border, is full of the plants we love. There’s no overall theme, just an eclectic mix of perennials that, for one reason or another, we consider well worth growing.
