Potsize – 9cm

Lychnis flos-cuculi ('Red Robin') . This our native Ragged Robin, a wildflower of damp meadows and ditches. It can be used to naturalise in grass, but when released into the border, freed from competition, it can really hold its own amongst more exotic introductions. In spring numerous sticky flowering stems are thrown up carrying loads of ragged-petalled pink flowers that are excellent nectar sources for bees. Not one of those tidy, refined types, but a damned good hit of colour and really easy for a wet site. 60cm. May-June
