An exquisite beauty from Japan with waxy lilac-pink nodding saucers with purple tips to the pale central tube. The flowers are held aloft in long stalked nodding racemes from late June through July. The tall slender stems are a delicious ebony. The foliage makes clumps of fine serrated leaves. this is a plant for the serious gardener. It requires careful siting in a cool, sheltered and shaded spot with good soil and adequate water. Anything less and it will scorch. It is slow to establish but is long lived if left alone and will reward your patience with beguiling fragile beauty for year on year. 60cm

At Dorset Perennials you will find a husband and wife team, Dawn and Martin, who have been plantsmen and nurserymen for nearly 25 years. Our nursery, situated in the North of Dorset close to the Somerset border, is full of the plants we love. There’s no overall theme, just an eclectic mix of perennials that, for one reason or another, we consider well worth growing.
