Shooting Star. Dodecatheon looks for all the world like cross between a Primula and a Cyclamen, having the basal leaves and flowering stems of the former with flowers with backswept petals in the style of the latter. They come from forest habitats and Prairies from the Southern United States right up through to Canada. The flowers are generally bright pink with a bullseye ring of red and yellow at the centre around the pointed nose of protruding stamens. They are best grown in a moist soil in partial shade. Grown from ‘Meadia Deluxe Mix’ seed. May contain some paler colours. 30cm

Dorset Perennials – plants direct from the heart of Dorset.

At Dorset Perennials you will find a husband and wife team, Dawn and Martin, who have been plantsmen and nurserymen for nearly 25 years. Our nursery, situated in the North of Dorset close to the Somerset border, is full of the plants we love. There’s no overall theme, just an eclectic mix of perennials that, for one reason or another, we consider well worth growing.
