Lythrum salicaria ‘Blush’

Lythrum salicaria ‘Blush’ is a very distinctive lythrum on account of its broad pale leaves and dense spikes of pale sugary pink flowers which fade with age. Like all of the Loosestrifes, it is great for attracting bees and butterflies alike. Equally at home in a moist border or by water. 100-150cm Lythrum can be quite free with their seed and germinate well in moist conditions. Hence, cut back after flowering for the sake of the plant and cut down on your weeding.

At Dorset Perennials you will find a husband and wife team, Dawn and Martin, who have been plantsmen and nurserymen for nearly 25 years. Our nursery, situated in the North of Dorset close to the Somerset border, is full of the plants we love. There’s no overall theme, just an eclectic mix of perennials that, for one reason or another, we consider well worth growing. We have plants for shade, plants for sun, plants for wildlife and a few more just because. In short all the perennials you would ever need to make a garden full of colour throughout the year and full of the plants you need to make it hum with wildlife.
